Meet The Team

Adrian has over 25 years of experience dealing with rating appeals and compulsory purchase compensation negotiations. Adrian was previously a Senior Director at BNP Paribas Real Estate and Head of London Rating and Statutory Valuation Department, and he is also a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association and the Rating Surveyors Association.

Adrian is experienced in developing client rate strategies to minimise costs and ensure budget control. He has particular expertise as a Rating Advisor in the leisure industry. He also specialises in compulsory purchase valuations and negotiations. In 2013, he merged with Ian Tanner, and Tanner Rose was born.

Ian started in the industry at the Valuation Office in 1976 and after joining the long-established City firm of Dron & Wright in 1987, he moved up to Partner in 1990.

Ian left in 2008 to set up his own practice, which was an immediate success, and subsequently teamed up with Adrian Rose in 2013, forming Tanner Rose.

Since then, Ian has provided business rates expertise for numerous Central London clients and practices, together with bespoke advice for the rail industry and other specialist occupiers.

James joined Tanner Rose in July 2014 after working for BNP Paribas Real Estate for 23 years. He is an experienced rating surveyor specialising in managing large portfolios of shops, offices and industrial units. In recent years, James has implemented numerous rate mitigation strategies, saving clients significant amounts of rates.

Julia joined Tanner Rose in 2012 and has developed her role as a rates administrator for the Rating Team. She currently works extensively on our rates management contracts, managing all rate payments on the client’s behalf.
